Did you see how bright the moon was last night?

OVER THE WEEKEND, one could be forgiven for mistaking the moon for the sun (well, we don’t see the latter too often).

But the moon also appeared about 14 per cent larger and 30 per cent brighter than it does at other times of the year. The reason? It was a rare supermoon – the one time of the year when the moon is at its closest to Earth and at is fullest stage.
