26-year-old dies after crash with tour bus in Wicklow

The man was seriously injured in the collision which took place on Friday afternoon.

A 26-YEAR-OLD man has passed away in Tallaght Hospital after being seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Wicklow on Friday afternoon.

The collision occurred at Ballymacrow Hill, Ashford, at approximately 3pm when a tour bus travelling towards Annamoe, Glendalough, was in collision with the man’s car. No one on the bus was injured.

The driver of the car, was seriously injured and after being resuscitated at the scene, he was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead yesterday evening. A female passenger in the car was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wicklow Garda Station on 0404-60140 , Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
