83-year-old man dies in Cork crash

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to yesterday afternoon’s collision in Fermoy.

AN 83-YEAR-OLD man has died following a single car collision in Fermoy yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí in Cork said the man was a passenger of a car that collided with a wall at Kilcronat in Ballynoe at about 4.35pm on Saturday.

The driver of the car – a woman in her mid-60s – was taken to Cork University Hospital but her injuries are said to be not life threatening.

The road was closed for a period for forensic examinations but it has now reopened.

Witnesses or anyone with information have been asked to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100 or the Confidential Lin on 1800 666 111.
