Aer Lingus staff to decide on strike action today

Results of a ballot on industrial action by cabin crew due.

THE RESULTS of a vote a ballot for industrial action by Aer Lingus cabin crew are set to be announced today. Impact began balloting its members last month.

The proposed action centres around a row between cabin crew and Aer Lingus over cost cutting plans by the airline. Impact say the airline is rail roading through new rosters and increasing crew’s working time to 850 hours a year.

Aer Lingus described the decision as ‘deeply regrettable’ saying that it didn’t understand why cabin crew were balloting having already voted to accept the cost cutting actions in March

Impact has already said an all out strike is not on the cards.
