Passenger rushed to hospital after Air Canada jet in medical diversion to Shannon

The plane touched down at 11.20am.

AN AIR CANADA jet made an unscheduled landing at Shannon Airport this morning after a passenger was taken ill on board.

The Boeing 777 was en-route from Frankfurt to Toronto when the decision was made to turn back and seek medical help in Ireland.

The plane touched down at 11.20am.

The passenger was taken immediately to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for treatment.
