Aircoach bus catches fire in Ballinteer

The flames were extinguished as the bus was parked in a lay-by this morning.

AN AIRCOACH BUS has been damaged after catching fire in Dublin at around 11am today.

No passengers were on board at the time and the company says that the blaze was extinguished while the vehicle was parked at a lay-by in Ballinteer.

Dublin fire services attended the scene and the bus driver was also involved in tackling the fire.

The coach sustained a “small amount of damage”, according to a company statement.

Aircoach, which runs services to and from Dublin Airport, said that a replacement coach was put on the route immediately and that the timetable has not been affected by the incident.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
