THE DÁIL IS hearing the latest on the controversies surrounding An Garda Siochána with Justice Minister Alan Shatter due to speak about the recent, damning Garda Inspectorate report into penalty points.

The events of the last 24 hours have thrown the government into a full scale crisis which Shatter will be attempting to deal with in the chamber this afternoon.

The big question surrounds whether he will withdraw claims that garda whistleblowers John Wilson and Maurice McCabe did not cooperate with the O’Mahoney inquiry into the penalty points controversy.
