Gardaí seized all this alcohol on Portmarnock beach yesterday

By 10am this morning, council cleanup crews had collected more than 200 bags of rubbish from the beach.

REVELLERS ENJOYING THE sun on Portmarnock beach were really looking to party yesterday.

Today gardaí published pictures of all of the alcohol they confiscated on the beach. It includes beer, cider, alcopops, cocktails and lots of naggins.

Gardaí said those making the most of the sun should “enjoy amenities” but reminded them that it’s illegal to drink alcohol on the beach.

This morning, Fingal County Council said cleanup crew has been out on beaches since 6am this morning. By 10am they had collected over 200 bags of rubbish from Portmarnock beach, with high numbers counted at other beaches.

They urged people heading for some sun, sea and sand to be safe and considerate and to bring rubbish home if bins are full.
