Here's what we learned from Amy Poehler’s visit to Trinity

Happy Amy Day, everybody.

TODAY, AMY POEHLER visited Trinity College and was honoured with the Gold Medal of Honorary Patronage.

People who were lucky enough to snag a ticket to the event were treated to singalongs and Huberman sightings.

Those of us who weren’t had to follow the whole thing on Twitter.

Here’s what we learned…

1. This was the queue to see her

2. Despite being a certified queen of comedy, she did not arrive in a horse-drawn carriage…

Instead, she arrived in a car like a regular human being and was greeted by throngs of loving fans.

3. She looked a little startled at all the attention

4. Amy Huberman and Amy Poehler are now happily married, apparently

5. That photo understandably sent Twitter over the edge

6. This was how small the room was

7. As for the talk itself? Well, she was raging that she missed #YokeTuesday

8. She led the crowd in a sing-along of Nothing Compares 2 U

9. She discussed her rationale behind creating Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, an online community for girls

10. If the whole comedy thing doesn’t work out for her, she has a career in motivational speaking

11. She answered questions about comedy being a ‘boy’s club’ like a boss

12. Those who didn’t get to go are considering watching The Late Late Show in case she shows up on it, by some miracle

(Afraid we just got the press release from the Late Late’s producers. She’s not on the list of guests – as yet, anyway.)
