Anna Byrne's remains recovered at Howth

The 35-year-old was reported missing from her Dunboyne home yesterday.

GARDAÍ HAVE CONFIRMED the identity of the remains recovered from the sea at Howth, Dublin as those of missing Meath woman Anna Byrne.

The 35-year-old was 38 weeks pregnant and was reported missing from her home in Dunboyne yesterday.

A ground, sea and air search involving the Coast Guard, fire brigade and Howth Lifeboat was conducted in the Howth Head area early this morning and the body was found shortly before 8am.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of Byrne’s death, but are not treating it as suspicious.
