Appeals for Laois woman missing since Thursday

Aoife Phelan was last seen in Portlaoise on Thursday evening.

THE FAMILY OF missing woman Aoife Phelan are growing increasingly concerned for the well-being of the 31-year-old au pair.

Aoife was last seen on Thursday night on Colliers Lane in Portlaoise at about 8.10pm.

Her sister Leanne said the disappearance is completely out of character.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie this morning she said, “It was my son’s birthday yesterday and she would usually be the first to call or text to wish him a good day.”

The Phelan family, who live in Ballyroan, believe Aoife had arranged to get a lift from Portlaoise on Thursday. Her phone was traced to the Mountmellick area but it has been turned off since about 9pm Thursday.

Anyone with any information about Aoife has been asked to contact any Garda station or her family on 085 7151 368.
