#Aras11 diary: Where the candidates will be today

With just one day to go until polling, this is one of your last chances to meet the presidential candidates. Here’s where they will be today.

AS THE CAMPAIGN for the presidential election hits the final day, check out where you can meet the candidates today.

Mary Davis will be at the Belcamp Creche in Coolock, Dublin, from 9.30am, before visiting Carmichael Centre for Voluntary Groups, on North Brunswick Street, at 11.30.

She will then travel to Sophia Housing Project on Cork Street for 12.30am and, finally, canvass on Henry Street in Dublin City Centre from 2pm – 4pm.

Sean Gallagher will spending the morning doing regional media interviews and canvassing supporters online, before travelling to Cavan and Louth. At 5.15pm he’ll carry out a meet-and-greet at the Rehab Care Centre in Cootehill, Co Cavan.

At 6pm he’ll meet local supporters at the Hotel Kilmore in Cavan Town, before travelling on to Dundalk to meet supporters and volunteers at McGeough’s Bar at 9.30pm.

Michael D Higgins starts his day with a walk around Limerick city, starting at Lower O’Connell Street at 10.30am. He will then head to Ennis for a walkabout at 11.45 (starting on O’Connell Street).

He then moves to Galway to meet students at GMIT on the Dublin Road at 1pm, before heading to meet NUIG students at 1.45pm. Higgins will then walk around Tuam from 3.30pm (starting at The Square) before travelling to Claremorris for 4.15pm and Castlebar at 5pm.

Martin McGuinness will be at Citywise Education Project, Durkan Centre, Fortunestown Way, Jobstown, Tallaght at 3.30pm.

Gay Mitchell will canvass commuters at Connolly Station Luas stop in Dublin from 8.30am.He will then take part in radio interviews with Radio Kerry (10.10am) and Shannonside radio (10.30am).

At 11.15 he will canvass at the corner of O’Connell Street and Henry Street, before heading to St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre for walkabout at 12.30 – and lunch at Kylemore Café there at 1pm. He will canvass at Bakers pub on the corner of Meath Street and Thomas Street from 2pm; arrive at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre at 3pm; head to Roselawn Shopping Centre for 3.45pm; arrive at Superquinn, Main Street, Blanchardstown at 4.15pm; meet commuters at Coolmine train station at 5pm and finally meet with commuters at Clonsilla train station at 6pm.

David Norris will arrive at the launch of the 2010 Annual Report of the Family Resource Centre at the Oak Room, Buswell’s Hotel on Molesworth Street, Dublin, at 10.45am. From there, he will head to DIT on the Rathmines Road for 11.45am to meet with Students Union members and host an online college chat forum.

At 1.15pm he will arrive at University College Dublin; travel to Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education for 4pm; and, finally, head to Duke Street, Co Dublin, for a ‘Live Stream’ Youth Vote Chat.

Dana Rosemary Scallon will take part in a radio interview with Today FM at 9.30am; she will then travel to Thurles, where she will meet with the public at Thurles Shopping Centre on Slievenamon Road from 11.30am.

At 12.30am she hold a meet at Cashel Town Centre, then travel to a meet at Fennessys Hotel located on the corner of Gladstone Street and Market Place in Clonmel from 1.30pm. Finally, she will travel to Tipperary Town Shopping Centre, Limerick Road, for 3.15pm.
