People injured after partial roof collapse of archway at Temple Bar

One woman was lying on the ground injured.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been injured after the roof of an archway at Temple Bar partially collapsed.

Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene at Merchant’s Arch at around 7.30pm.

One woman was seen lying on the ground injured. Another man limped into an ambulance with blood coming from his head, he also appeared to be covered in dust.

It’s understood that the man and woman are not believed to be seriously injured.

Three fire engines, two ambulances and a garda traffic unit were called to the scene.

Traffic was backed up at the quays and was down to one lane with gardaí directing.

The incident has been cleared but AA Roadwatch warned of delays in the area.
