Brothers extradited to the North over double murder

Niall and Martin Smith have been formally extradited to the North to face charges in connection with the murder of Thomas O’Hare and Lisa McClatchey in south Armagh over six years ago.

TWO BROTHERS WHO were arrested in Dundalk and Dublin last month in connection with a double murder in Armagh just over six years ago have been extradited to the North.

Niall and Martin Smith, aged 37 and 40 respectively, have been formally extradited to Northern Ireland where they will appear at a magistrates court in Armagh tomorrow morning.

They are facing charges in connection with the murder of Thomas O’Hare, 33, and Lisa McClatchey, 21.

The pair both died from their injuries after they were set on fire by a gang who attacked their home in Keady, Co Armagh in November 2006.

The Smith brothers were brought before the High Court in Dublin in December on foot of European arrest warrants having been arrested in Dundalk and Dublin by gardaí from the extradition unit.
