Woman held up in armed cash raid in Dublin suburb

Two men have been arrested after the robbery in Clontarf.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after a woman was held at gunpoint in an armed raid at a shop in Clontarf in Dublin

The robbery happened at about 7.45 am this morning when two men entered the shop on Stiles Road and threatened a female member of staff with a firearm.

Both men then left the scene on foot after stealing a sum of cash with gardaí saying the front door of the shop was damaged during the incident.

In a follow up operation, gardaí from Clontarf and Raheny arrested two men at a building near the shop a short time later.

A firearm and a quantity of cash were also recovered by gardaí.

Both men are currently being held at Clontarf Garda Station with the firearm to be sent for ballistic examination.
