Three arrested after good weather brings trouble to Portmarnock beach

Large numbers of youths gathered on the beach shouted abuse at each other, some throwing glass bottles.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after a disturbance on Portmarnock beach involving a large number of youths last night.

Gardaí were called to the scene at about 6pm yesterday evening to deal with the public order incident.

Videos uploded to YouTube afterwards show a large number of young people shouting abuse at each other and some throwing glass bottles. However no injuries were reported to gardaí.

Three males were arrested at around 10pm last night for a breach of public order. Gardaí said today that there had been a large number of people bathing on the beach due to the good weather.
