Man arrested in connection with fatal shooting

The arrest is in relation to last night’s shooting, in which a 35-year-old male who had been shot was dropped off at St James’s Hospital.

A MAN HAS been arrested in relation to the shooting dead of a 35-year-old male yesterday evening.

The victim had been dropped off at St James’s Hospital in a car which was later found on Cork Street in Dublin 8.

The man was pronounced dead by medics at the hospital.

Gardaí in Kevin Street, who are investigating the shooting, have arrested a male in his late 20s in connection with the incident.

He is being detained under the provisions of section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Kevin Street Garda station.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Kilmainham Garda station on 01 666 9700.
