Arrests follow armed raid on Roscommon post office

Gardaí investigating yesterday’s robbery have arrested a man and a woman.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE BEEN arrested in connection with yesterday’s armed raid on a post office in Castlerea, Co Roscommon.

Three masked men, two armed with guns, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes from the post office yesterday morning.

No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident. They left the scene in an 01 LH registered green Nissan Almera.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s yesterday evening in Ballinlough, Co Roscommon. A sum of money has been recovered, but gardaí are still looking for two other people in connection with the robbery.
