Arrests following discovery of device

A viable device was found in a car on Buncrana Road, Co Derry, last night. Three men have been arrested.

POLICE IN CO DERRY found a suspicious device in a car on Buncrana Road yesterday.

After investigation, it was discovered that the the device was viable.

A spokesperson from the PSNI said the device was recovered from the car and taken for further investigation.

The road was closed off to motorists.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Crime Operations Branch arrested three males in the Derry area yesterday afternoon.

The men, aged 59, 49 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of dissident terrorist activity and are currently helping police with their enquiries.
