Two women arrested over fatal Temple Bar assault

One has been released without charge.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED two women in connection with a fatal assault in Dublin city centre.

Gareth O’Connor (27) was attacked by a number of people on Cow’s Lane in Temple Bar last Thursday evening. He was pronounced dead the following day in hospital.

A number of people are believed to have taken pictures or videos of the incident.

Four men were arrested in connection with the attack, and all were released without charge.

And today, two women, both aged in their 20s, were arrested and detained at Pearse Street Garda Station.

One was released without charge, with a file to be prepared for the DPP, while the other remains in custody.

Gardaí are continuing their appeal for anyone with information to contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station on 11 – 6669000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
