Two men arrested in connection with David Byrne murder

Gardaí have arrested seven people to date as part of this murder investigation.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin.

Gardaí said one of the men was arrested yesterday evening and the second was arrested this morning. Both are in their 50s and are being detained at Clontarf and Ballymun garda stations.

Byrne, a member of the Kinahan cartel, was gunned down at a boxing weigh-in at the Dublin hotel on 5 February. His killing is believed to have been retaliation by members of the Hutch gang for the murder of Gary Hutch in Spain.

Seven people have lost their lives in the feud, the latest, 35-year-old Gareth Hutch, just last week.

Gardaí have arrested seven people to date as part of this murder investigation.
