Gardaí investigating attempted arson after four people escape blaze

The four residents of the house were able to escape.

GARDAÍ IN COUNTY Louth are investigating an attempted arson attack on a house near Drogheda.

Gardaí and fire services were called to the house in the Monasterboice area at around 2am this morning.

It’s believed that an item, possibly a petrol bomb, was thrown through a window of the bungalow.

The four residents of the house were able to escape, however after one was able to tackle the blaze and raise the alarm.

Two units of the Louth Fire Service attended the scene and put the fire out. Nobody was injured in the incident.

Gardaí in Drogheda are appealing for witnesses and can be reached on (041) 987 4200.
