Man arrested after woman finds him in her home

He will appear in court today.

GARDAÍ IN MEATH investigating a burglary which occurred in the Ashbourne area yesterday afternoon have arrested a 38 year old man.

Yesterday at around 4.30pm, a woman returned to her home in the Robertstown area of Ashbourne. Upon arrival, she noticed an unknown man in her house and immediately fled and contacted Gardaí.

Gardaí from Ashbourne immediately responded to the call and, following a search of the area, arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the incident. He was brought to Ashbourne Garda Station where he is detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A car which investigating gardaí believe was used in the burglary was recovered along with property.

The man arrested in connection with the burglary is expected to appear Navan District Court this morning.
