Woman charged over suspicious house fire at 73-year-old woman's home

A 27-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident.

GARDAÍ HAVE CHARGED a woman in connection with a suspicious house fire in Drogheda.

The fire – which happened on 16 August last year – saw a 73-year-old woman suffer serious injuries in the fire and subsequently die.

A male aged in his thirties entered the house at the time and managed to remove the woman to safety. He also sustained non-life threatening injuries.

This happened at around 1am in the morning at the property on Cord Road in the town.

Arrest 

A 27-year-old woman was arrested last night by gardaí in Drogheda and was charged this morning in connection with the fire.

She has appeared before Drogheda District Court this morning.
