Man arrested after 10-year-old boy saves his little sister from abduction

It is believed that yesterday afternoon the man was driving the car and begging for money in the midlands.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man who allegedly put a young girl in the back of a jeep yesterday.

The man was arrested in County Kilkenny this afternoon and is currently en route to Portlaoise Garda Station. Gardaí had sought information on the stolen vehicle, registration number 04-KK-2649, which has now been located and recovered.

It is believed that yesterday afternoon the man was driving the car and begging for money in the midlands, leading to a number of reports to gardaí.

He then approached two children in Cullahill, County Laois at around 11am and put the young girl in the back of the jeep. However, she managed to escape when her 10-year-old brother jumped on the back of the vehicle.
