THE SHIMMERING COLOURS of the Northern Lights are captured in this beautiful photograph taken in the early hours of Monday morning.

Adam Rory Porter and a group of photographers from the Buncrana Camera Club went to snap the Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights from a few locations, and this photograph captures them in all their beauty.

Porter says the photo was taken at Dunree Head on the grounds of the Dunree Fort and Military Museum.
