Body of newborn baby found at Bray recycling facility

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding the discovery of what is believed to be the body of a newborn baby.

The body was found  at around 11am this morning at the Greenstar recycling facility in Old Fassaroe, Bray, county Wicklow. It is understood a member of staff made the discovery.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the State Pathologist is understood to be at the scene. Members of the Garda Technical Bureau have also been on site for much of the day.

Gardaí said enquiriesare ongoing.

Just a small section of the site in Bray has been cordoned off for an examination and the plant has been operational today.

A spokesperson for Greenstar said the company is “supporting the gardaí with their enquiries” and would not be making any further comment on the incident.
