THERE HAS BEEN a gas explosion in rural Ballinspittle, Co. Cork.

Gardaí have confirmed that the explosion occurred at a café on the village’s main street a short time ago.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the establishment in question is Diva Boutique Café.

Kinsale fire brigade and two ambulances attended the scene

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are investigating.
