Two arrested after hijacking pizza delivery man's car

The man and woman were spotted by a garda patrol car shortly after they forced the driver out of his car.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED two people following a hijacking in Ballymun early yesterday morning.

Just after midnight, a pizza delivery man parked at Marewood Drive and was approached by a number of people as he tried to make his delivery.

A male forced the 50-year-old driver out of the car before driving away with a female accomplice. The driver was uninjured.

A short time later, a garda patrol car observed the car in Finglas. It was driven to Cloonlara Cresent where the two people attempted to abandon it. A 24-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.

The two were charged in connection with the incident yesterday afternoon.
