Postmortem to be carried out on Bantry body

A man in his 70s has been arrested and remains in custody this morning.

A POSTMORTEN IS due to be carried out today on the body of a man who died under “suspicious” circumstances in Bantry, Co Cork.

The 53-year-old man’s body was found yesterday evening outside the town and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 70′s was arrested in relation to the death shortly afterward and taken to Bantry Garda station.

Today Gardaí said the man remains in custody and no other arrests have been made.The investigation is ongoing and Gardaí await the results of the postmortem.
