Swimming forbidden at four Dublin beaches due to sewage discharge

The 72-hour warning was issued yesterday.

SWIMMING IS FORBIDDEN at four Dublin beaches over water quality deterioration due to “suspected sewage discharge from waste water treatment”.

The beaches affected are:

  • Skerries south beach
  • Balbriggan front strand beach
  • Rush north beach
  •  Loughshinny beach

Fingal County Council issued the 72-hour warnings on Saturday.

People are being warned that they may become ill from the bacteria if they swim in the water.
