Woman killed after man attacks shoppers with axe and chainsaw in Belarus

The attacker was arrested at the scene.

A MAN HAS attacked shoppers in a shopping centre with an axe and a chainsaw in Minsk, killing one woman and injuring another, according to police in the Belarus capital.

The attacker was arrested at the scene in the wake of yesterday’s killing.

“A girl has died” from her injuries, police said.

A hospital spokesman said a 46-year-old woman was being treated after receiving two axe blows to the chest and shoulder.

On social media, witnesses said the attacker wore a mask and was carrying a huge axe.

The attacker’s motive was not immediately clear.
