POLICE IN EAST Belfast are appealing for information after a number of vehicles were damaged by youths throwing stones.

Four women were injured on a bus in the area of Castlereagh Street and Beersbridge Road last night.

At around 9.30pm it was reported that a large group of youths were throwing stones at passing vehicles, with four buses and a car reported to have been damaged as a result.

A female passenger on a bus sustained injures after being struck by a stone and three other women sustained injuries after being hit by flying glass. Police in the area responded to the reports and the youths dispersed.

The PSNI appealed for anyone who witnessed any of the incidents or anyone with any information to contact Strandtown Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
