This is the sanctuary Benjy the gay bull is leaving for tomorrow

Benjy was saved from the chop by Sam Simon of Simpsons fame.

BENJY, THE GAY bull who was saved from the slaughterhouse by Simpsons co-creator Sam Simon, will tomorrow be picked up to be brought to his new home on an English farm.

Benjy’s days looked numbered when he showed more interest in bulls than heifers and a Mayo farmer looked to cut his losses.

But an online campaign by animal rights group Aran and the Hillside Animal Sanctuary raised €5,000 to bring him to the Norfolk home for animals in need.

Tomorrow, Benjy will be collected from his current plot in Claremorris and loaded onto a trailer that will cross the Irish Sea and the Pennines to the English east coast.

Aran says that one of their campaigners will be there to see Benjy off and present him with a “one way ticket to freedom”.

The sanctuary itself is home to dogs, horses, sheep, pigs, fowl and more so Benjy won’t be lonely. There is also cattle there but their sexual orientation is unknown.

Safe trip Benjy.
