Woman due in court over Bertie Acheson death

A woman has been charged with manslaughter by detectives investigating the death of the pensioner earlier this year.

A WOMAN IS due in court later today charged with the manslaughter of pensioner Bertie Acheson earlier this year.

The 23-year-old woman – whose birthday is today – was arrested in the Antrim area on Monday morning by detectives in Northern Ireland investigating the death of 72-year-old Acheson.

He died after suffering a heart attack as a result of a confrontation with an intruder at his home in Glenmore Gardens in Coleraine on the 30 April this year.

The woman is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates Court later today.
