Bez we can: Happy Mondays dancer launches election bid

“Shake your maracas if you’re against the frackers.”

The dancer, lesser known as Mark Berry, is hoping to become an MP in Salford, Greater Manchester – replacing former Labour minister Hazel Blears.

According to the Guardian, Bez gave out “frack free” beer at the launch – which took place in Salford yesterday.

One of his campaign slogans is: “Shake your maracas if you’re against the frackers.”

Bez launched the Reality Party in April of last year, shortly after announcing his intention to run this year’s General Election.

He told the Manchester Evening News he wants “a revolution,” adding: “There’s no good shouting about it when you’re not actually doing anything.”

The paper also notes his desire for a “new world order … where we’ll end illness and get everybody back to an alkaline state”.
