Body found in container in the Grand Canal

A BODY HAS been discovered in a container in a canal in Co Kildare this afternoon.

Gardaí in Leixlip are investigating the discovery. The container was discovered in the Grand Canal at Ardclough Village this afternoon at about 3.30pm.

The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda technical examination, while the body remains at the scene.

The State Pathologist has likewise been notified.

Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
