Body recovered from sea off Clare coast

The man was seen going into the water from the cliffs on Monday evening.

THE BODY OF a man has been recovered from the sea off the coast of Co Clare.

The man was seen going into the water from the Cliffs of Moher on Monday evening and a search was launched by Doolin Coast Guard and the local rescue helicopter.

However they were unable to locate the man’s body and the search was stood down until yesterday morning.

At around 6.20pm yesterday the coast guard unit managed to recovery the body which was taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
