Murder investigation launched after body found in Kildare field

The result will determine the course of the garda investigation.

Updated  11pm

THE BODY FOUND in a field in Kildare yesterday has been identified as that of missing man Silvestras Stoskus.

A murder investigation has been launched.

The 20 year old had last been seen at his home in Kinnegad on 8 March.

The results of a post-mortem, carried out today, are not being released for operational reasons but gardaí confirmed a murder probe has started.

Gardaí in Leixlip are appealing for anyone who may have spoken to Silvestras between 8 March and 18 March to come forward. They also want to talk to anybody who may have seen suspicious activity between those dates at either Bun Daire in Kinnegad or Broadford in Kildare.
