Body found during search for missing man off Clare

The discovery was made shortly after 8am this morning.

THE BODY OF a man has been recovered off the coast of Clare by coast guard teams searching for a missing person.

The discovery was made shortly after 8am this morning by members of Doolin Coast Guard.

A team were conducting a coast line search at Doonagore Bay, close to Doolin Point in Co Clare, a statement read.

“The body was subsequently recovered by a RIB operated by the team,” it continued.

The remains will be transferred to Ennis General Hospital for post mortem and formal identification.

A search had been taking place in the area for a missing man, aged in his 60s and believed to be from Dublin, since last week.
