Woman's body recovered from house fire in Newry

The police are treating the fire as “suspicious”.

THE POLICE IN Northern Ireland are in attendance at the scene of a fatal fire that occurred yesterday evening in the Georges Lane area of Newry.

The fire at a house was reported to police just after 11.05pm.

It is believed that the body of a woman was found in the house.

At this stage, police are treating the fire as suspicious.

The police said there are no further details at this time, however anyone who knows anything about this incident is asked to contact Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
