Human body part found in Co Meath

The body part, which is understood was an arm, was discovered by members of the public this afternoon.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS been opened after a human body part was found in Co Meath.

Gardaí in Ashbourne, Co Meath are investigating the discovery of the human body part, which was found in open ground at the Mayne, Clonee, Co Meath.

It is understood the body part is an arm, and it was discovered by passersby at approximately 4.30pm today.

The area has since been sealed off and is being technically examined.

The body part is still at the scene and will be removed later to the morgue in Navan.

Gardaí said that searches will continue in the area at first light tomorrow morning.
