Bomb disposal team deployed to area of south Dublin

A Defence Forces spokesperson confirmed that there is concern over a possible chemical substance in the Churchtown area.

THE ARMY BOMB Disposal team was called to the scene of an incident in the Churchtown area of Dublin where there is concern over a possible chemical substance.

The Defence Forces were alerted to the incident at around 4 o’clock this afternoon.

An army spokesperson said that the team hoped to carry out an evaluation of the scene before more details are released.

Several homes on Weston Road are said to have been evacuated as a result of the alert with Gardaí and Fire Brigade teams also present at the scene.
