Bono wanted the Clintons to help him call the International Space Station

In fairness to him, he got his wish in the end.

BONO WANTED THE Clintons to help him organise a concert link-up with the International Space Station, newly released emails have shown.

The revelation is part of a tranche of emails that were released by JudicialWatch.org from Hillary Clinton’s time as US Secretary of State.

One of the email threads from May 2009 involves three people close to the Clintons under the subject ‘Bono/NASA’.

The mail was sent by Ben Schwerin, an executive with the Clinton Foundation who also worked on U2′s Vertigo Tour in 2005.

It was sent to Huma Abedin and Doug Band, top aides to Hillary and Bill Clinton respectively.

It reads:

Bono wants help to do linkup with the international space station on every show during the tour this year. I’m trying to figure out who the best contact is to talk to at NASA or the congressional committee on science and technology. Any ideas? Thks

In separate email responses, both Abedin and Band gave the same short response: ‘No clue’.

It is not known whether approaching the Clintons eventually bore fruit, but Bono did get his wish one way or another.

During the U2 360 Tour in 2009, a link-up was established between the band and the space station at several concerts during the tour.

A other concerts, pre-recorded messages from ISS astronauts were also played during their performance.
