Brendan O'Carroll will lead this year's St Patrick's Day parade

He looks fairly thrilled about it too.

DUBLIN’S-OWN BRENDAN O’Carroll has been chosen to lead this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in the capital.

The Mrs Brown’s Boys star will (literally) follow in the footsteps of Stephen Roche, Nicky Byrne, Katie Taylor and Johnny Giles as the Grand Marshal of the Dublin parade.

Festival organisers this morning announced that O’Carroll will front the parade. They say it will draw inspiration from Ireland in ‘the present’ as opposed to last year which focused on ‘the past’ and 2016′s focus on ‘the future’.

The four-day festival will run from Saturday 14th to Tuesday 17th of March.
