Masked intruders assault elderly men in aggravated burglary

The burglars demanded money from the two men at a house in Tuam.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an aggravated burglary at a house in Tuam, Co Galway this week in which two elderly men were injured.

The burglary occurred between 1am and 2am on Monday morning. Three masked men entered the house in Boleylaan, Cortoon in Tuam, and demanded money from the two men who are both aged in their 70s.

Afterwards they were both treated at the scene for minor injuries. It is not know what was taken from the house yet, according to gardaí, but the scene was preserved and technically examined.
