15 people injured as bus carrying teenagers crashes in France

The bus carrying the Welsh teenagers was en route to Italy when the accident happened.

AT LEAST 15 PEOPLE have been injured in an accident involving a bus in France.

50 people were on the bus, 44 of whom were teenagers aged between 14 and 17. Two of those injured are understood to be in a critical condition.

The incident happened this morning on the A39 motorway at Lons-le-Saunier in the east of the country. The bus had been travelling to Italy at the time of the accident.

Two helicopters have been dispatched to aid in the rescue effort.

It’s understood that the bus was the only vehicle involved in the incident which saw it overturn on the motorway’s median.
