Traffic slow on Cork motorway after bus catches fire

There was nobody on the Bus Éireann vehicle which has now been towed away.

A BUS CAUGHT on fire on the M8, near Glanmire, earlier this morning.

There were no passengers on the bus and no reports of injuries. Emergency services attended the scene, brought the fire under control and the vehicle has now been towed away.

However, AA Roadwatch has reported very bad traffic in the area as a result.

One lane was completely blocked after junction 18 Glanmire and delays are back to the Skehard Road junction on the South Ring Road.

“Traffic is very busy on the route southbound approaching the Dunkettle Interchange,” it added.

Transport: Irish airport traffic up 5.4 per cent in December
