Bus set on fire outside Quinn Group property

Gardaí are carrying out a technical examination of the scene today.

A BUS WAS set on fire outside Quinn Group property last night.

Gardaí in Ballyconnell, Co Cavan are investigating an incident in Rakeelan, Ballyconnell, that occurred at 5.30am today.

A bus was parked across the entrance to three business premises, and set on fire.

Gardaí were called to the scene and found that no damage was caused to other properties in the area and no one was injured.

The scene has been preserved and a technical examination is being carried out today.

The site is where the Quinn Therm company is based.

A number of attacks on Quinn Group properties have taken place over the past year. In November, arson was reported at a Quinn Group business premises in Co Fermanagh.

In 2012, a truck was driven into a wall at a Quinn Group premises in Co Fermanagh, while the previous year, there was a fire at the group headquarters.
