How are you getting around? Travel disruption widespread as bus drivers strike

Did the strike action impact your day?

Traffic Gridlock Delays on Motorways Photocall Ireland Photocall Ireland

YOU MAY HAVE noticed – there were no buses running today.

Many commuters were forced to drive to work today, causing a lot of traffic delays around the country.

It’s believed today’s strike action by bus drivers is impacting on 850,000 commuters today.

If you are driving somewhere today, remember, you can’t drive in the bus lanes.

Earlier, AA Roadwatch reported the following:

In Dublin:

  • The N1, N2 and N3 are busy
  • The north city is busy following a crash on Dorset Street
  • A breakdown on the M50 has been cleared and the motorway is moving again
  • A breakdown on the N7 is blocking a lane at the Red Cow interchange

LIMERICK: Traffic is very slow on the N21 and a crash on the M20 is slowing things considerably.

CORK: The N20 is very heavy near road works at Buttevant.

KILDARE: A three-car crash is causing delays at junction 7 of the N7 near Kill.

If you need a taxi, Hailo Ireland has offered a promo offer for all our readers:

The taxi app was fairly busy today

So, how did people get on out there?

The trains were packed through the day, the Luas was “not as busy as expected” and cyclists loved having the run of the bus lanes.
